The MICRO SWITCH„¢ Hazardous Location Switches: EX Series are designed to be used in hazardous environments where explosive gases or dust may be present. The switch features an epoxy-coated aluminum housing for added durability and protection against corrosive substances. The switch does not come with a lever supplied, and has a clockwise rotation when viewing the nameplate side. It is a Single Pole Double Throw (SPDT) switch with a maximum current rating of 15 A at 125, 250, or 480 Vac. The switch has a NEMA 1 seal rating, which means it is suitable for indoor use. The operating temperature range for this switch is from -40 °C to 70 °C (-40 °F to 158 °F), making it suitable for a wide range of environments. The switch has a 1/2 - 14 NPT conduit termination for easy installation. The switch is rated for use in hazardous locations classified as NEMA 7: Class I, Div. 1 & 2, Groups C & D; NEMA 9: Class II, Div. 1 & 2, Groups E, F, & G; Ex d IIB + H2 T6 Category II 2 G. It has been approved by various agencies including ATEX (CE), CSA, UL, IEC Ex, INMETRO. The switch comes with an external and internal ground screw, as well as a mounting bracket and mounting hardware which is furnished unassembled.
