DESCRIPTION

The 4001A is a 4 MHz sweep function generator designed for signal generation and testing applications. It generates six waveforms (sine, square, triangle, ramp, positive pulse, and negative pulse) across a frequency range of 0.5 Hz to 4 MHz in six ranges, with output amplitude from 0.2 Vpp to 20 Vpp into open circuit (0.1 Vpp to 10 Vpp into 50 O load). The device features linear or logarithmic sweep modes with continuously variable sweep rates from 5 seconds to 10 milliseconds, a ±10 V DC offset capability, and a 20 dB attenuator for precise amplitude control. Key performance characteristics include less than 2% distortion from 1 Hz to 100 kHz, rise/fall times under 90 nanoseconds, and TTL sync output with rise time under 60 nanoseconds. The 4001A is ideal for laboratory testing, circuit development, and signal analysis where flexible waveform generation and sweep functionality are required.
