The 4650 is a complete wrist strap assembly from the 3M 4600 Series designed for electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection in electronics manufacturing and handling environments. It consists of an adjustable wrist band with a molded thermoplastic exterior and conductive interior insert featuring a 4 mm male stud, paired with a 5-foot lightweight coiled grounding cord with a 4 mm female snap connector. The wrist band is adjustable from 1.7 to 2.7 inches in diameter, features a "zipper" style latching mechanism for easy adjustment, and includes exclusive "comfort bumps" on the conductive interior to provide airflow and enhance wearer comfort. The grounding cord contains highly flexible tinsel conductors with a molded-in 1 MO resistor (±20%) to limit current flow, offers tensile strength greater than 15 lbs, and provides over 200,000 flexes at termination. This assembly is ideal for personnel working with sensitive electronic components, providing reliable ESD protection while maintaining comfort and ease of use in high-tech manufacturing and assembly operations.
