The M5-116-427 is a Brady B-427 thermal transfer printable translucent vinyl tape designed for wire and cable identification applications. The tape features a self-laminated format with a white printable zone and translucent overlaminating area, utilizing permanent acrylic adhesive and offering excellent clarity, conformability, and self-extinguishing properties. It demonstrates outstanding water and oil resistance with a total thickness of 0.0040 inch (0.102 mm) and achieves adhesion strengths of 38–49 oz/in (42–54 N/100 mm) on stainless steel and 25–33 oz/in (28–36 N/100 mm) on polypropylene depending on dwell time. The material maintains functionality across a wide temperature range from -94°F (-70°C) to 212°F (100°C), resists humidity, UV light, and weathering, and exhibits excellent chemical resistance to cleaners, solvents, and isopropyl alcohol. This tape is ideal for industrial labeling, wire identification in harsh environments, and applications requiring durable, weather-resistant marking with thermal transfer printing compatibility.
