DESCRIPTION

55157-2 is a pre-insulated PIDG ring tongue terminal designed for solderless wire termination in control circuits and power wiring applications. The terminal features a tin-plated copper body with a copper sleeve and yellow nylon insulation (UL 94V-2) for high dielectric strength and corrosion resistance. It accommodates 12-10 AWG wire sizes (5,180–13,100 circular mils) and is designed for M5 stud mounting with a stud hole diameter of 0.129 inches. The terminal incorporates serration or dimple features inside the barrel for exceptional contact and tensile strength, and is crimped using standard AMP tooling for uniform, high-quality terminations. This terminal is ideal for applications requiring reliable, long-term performance in harsh environments, with proven service life of ten to twenty years in demanding industrial and automotive circuits.
