DESCRIPTION
SM3181 is a 2.92mm female to 2.4mm male RF adapter from Fairview Microwave designed to enable connections between incompatible connector types in RF and microwave applications. The adapter features a straight body geometry with 50 ohm impedance and operates across a frequency range from DC to 40 GHz, delivering excellent VSWR performance of 1.2:1 maximum. The connector contacts are constructed from gold-plated beryllium copper with a minimum plating thickness of 1.27 µm, while the body and coupling nut are made from passivated stainless steel for durability. The adapter supports 500 mating cycles with a mating torque of 8 to 10 in-lbs (0.90 to 1.13 Nm) and operates reliably across a temperature range of -55°C to +120°C. This adapter is ideal for general-purpose test applications and serves as a connector saver for expensive equipment experiencing frequent connect/disconnect cycles.
