DESCRIPTION

The OPB991T55Z is a non-contact Photologic® slotted optical switch designed for flexibility in application-specific requirements. This model features a buffer open-collector output, open apertures for maximum protection against external light sources, and 26AWG wire leads for electrical interface flexibility. It is built in a standard opaque plastic housing with a 0.125” (3.18mm) wide slot, an aperture width of 0.050” (1.27mm) for both the emitter and sensor, and mounting tabs on both sides. The switch operates over a wide supply voltage range from 4.5V to 16V and is suitable for direct interface with TTL, LSTTL, and CMOS logic. Common applications include speed and direction indication, mechanical switch replacement, printer home position sensing, and rotary encoders.
