The EMC48S50-04 is a three-phase induction motor softstarter designed to provide solid-state reduced voltage starting with integrated softstop capability. It features a six-thyristor structure operating as a full-wave phase angle controller that reduces motor starting current and torque while minimizing voltage fluctuations and flicker. The device supports motor power ratings up to 15 kW in star (Y) configuration and 26 kW in delta (D) configuration at 400 Vac, with operating voltage range of 200-480 Vac and frequency range of 40-65 Hz. Key capabilities include adjustable starting time (0-64 seconds), initial torque control (0-100%), and selectable softstop duration, along with diagnostic and bypass status outputs for integration with external contactors. This softstarter is ideal for applications such as pumps, fans, compressors, and conveyors, offering reduced mechanical stress, lower maintenance costs, and improved power efficiency compared to direct-on-line starting methods.
