The 84S-BC2-016-N is a sealed 4x4 keypad from Grayhill's Series 84S, designed for reliable user input in harsh environments. It features waterproof silicone rubber construction with audible and tactile contacts, low contact resistance, and a rated lifespan of 3,000,000 operations per button. The keypad utilizes a single pole/common bus circuitry configuration with in-line terminal pins, and is constructed with an FR-4 glass cloth epoxy PC board, stainless steel contact domes with selective gold plating, and ABS Cyclac buttons (grade FR15U). Optional EMI shielding with aluminum foil is available to reduce electromagnetic interference. The 4x4 configuration measures 3.100 ± 0.020 inches (78.74 ± 0.51 mm) per side with 0.750 inch (19.05 mm) equally spaced button areas, and mounting is accomplished via #6-32 studs. This keypad is ideal for applications requiring durable, customizable input interfaces in industrial control systems, telecommunications equipment, and consumer electronics where environmental sealing and EMI protection are critical.
