DESCRIPCIÓN
The SMLJ78A is a Transient Voltage Suppressor Diode designed for surge and ESD protection in portable communications, computing, and video equipment applications. It features a compact surface mount SMC (DO-214AB) package with a standoff voltage range of 5.0 to 170 volts and a peak pulse power dissipation of 3000 watts at 1 ms pulse duration. The device offers fast response times of less than 1.0 ns for unidirectional operation and less than 5.0 ns for bidirectional operation, with a peak forward surge current rating of 300 amps (8.3 ms single half sine wave). Operating over a temperature range of -55°C to +150°C, the SMLJ78A provides reliable transient protection with steady-state power dissipation of 5.0 watts at 75°C. This RoHS-compliant device is ideal for protecting sensitive electronics from voltage transients and electrostatic discharge events.
