The 944-601-5006 is a fixed optical plug-style attenuator designed to precisely reduce optical signal intensity in fiber optic networks. This compact device utilizes absorption technology and is available with attenuation values from 0 to 20 dB, meeting Telcordia GR-910 specifications. It features flat attenuation response over temperature and operating bandpass (1260–1360 nm and 1430–1580 nm), with operating temperature range of -40°C to +80°C and polarization-dependent loss (PDL) less than 0.2 dB. The attenuator is available in industry-standard FC and SC connector styles with multiple polish options (super, ultra, or angle polish) providing return loss performance from -45 dB to -65 dB. Common applications include telecom central offices, CATV head-ends, data communications, and test and measurement systems, where it adjusts transmission signal levels to increase network flexibility and extend the lifespan of optical equipment.
