The 8-34173-2 is a pre-insulated PIDG parallel splice designed for reliable wire joining in control circuits and power wiring applications. It accommodates wire sizes from 12 to 10 AWG (5,180–13,100 circular mils) with a maximum splice insulation length of 0.843 inches (21.41 mm) and supports wire insulation diameters up to 0.200 inches (5.08 mm). The splice features a copper body per ASTM B-152 with tin plating per ASTM B-545, vinyl insulation rated UL 94V-0, and is color-coded yellow for easy wire size identification. It is designed for use with AMP application tooling to ensure uniform, high-quality terminations and provides exceptional barrel contact and tensile strength through serration or dimple features inside the splice barrel.
