7-2178711-8 is an 8-position female on board SMD connector from TE Connectivity's Micro-MaTch Value-line Connector Family, designed for top entry board-to-board and wire-to-board interconnections. This connector features a 1.27 mm (0.050 inch) centerline pitch and is supplied in tape and reel packaging, making it suitable for automatic pick and place assembly. The insulation displacement contact system provides highly reliable gas tight and corrosion free connections between wire and insulation displacement contacts. Common applications include home automation, alarm equipment, mobile GPS devices, lighting systems, air and climate control units, CCTV, and set top boxes.
