42844-2 is a fully insulated FASTON receptacle terminal designed for 14-12 AWG solid, fused, and stranded wire applications. This .250 series terminal features a one-piece insulated design with a green color-coded housing to indicate wire size compatibility, and is rated for mating with .032 inch (0.81 mm) tab thickness. The terminal is constructed from brass with a .018 inch (0.46 mm) stock thickness and accommodates wire insulation up to .250 inch (6.35 mm) diameter, with a maximum length of 1,012 inches (25.70 mm). The receptacle includes design features such as a funnel wire entry, wire stop, visual inspection window for crimp verification, and is UL rated at +105°C, meeting UL-310 specification for quick connect terminals. This terminal is commonly used in automotive, appliance, and industrial electrical assemblies where reliable quick-disconnect connections and shock/short hazard prevention are essential.
