2-644488-7 is an MTA-100 shrouded header designed for wire-to-board and board-to-board interconnect applications with 0.100-inch (2.54 mm) centerline spacing. The header features straight posts with a 0.025-inch (0.64 mm) square cross-section and includes pegs for mechanical retention and polarization. It is available in multiple position configurations ranging from 2 to 28 positions, with the overall length determined by multiplying 0.100 inches by the number of posts minus 0.012 inches. The connector is offered with either tin-plated or gold-plated contact options, including duplex gold plating on the mating end of posts with tin on the solder tail. This header is commonly used in industrial control systems, telecommunications equipment, and consumer electronics where reliable discrete wire connections and keying capabilities are required.
