Hall effect sensors operate as analog transducers and return a voltage directly. These sensors vary their output voltage in response to a magnetic field. They are generally used in proximity switching, positioning, speed detection, and current sensing. Some of the applications for these hall effect sensors are motor controls, magnetic code reading, vibration sensing, rotary encoders, and liquid level sensing, among others.

SS495A2 Hall Effect Sensor from Honeywell is a basic, miniature-type sensor that offers ratiometric linear output. Compact in size, this Automotive Sensor consumes low power and delivers superior performance. It offers improved temperature stability and sensitivity. The quad Hall sensing element of this Honeywell Sensor minimizes the effects of mechanical or thermal stress and ensures a stable output.
