The M5-116-427 is a Brady B-427 thermal transfer printable translucent vinyl tape designed for wire and cable identification applications. The tape features a self-laminated format with a white printable zone and translucent overlaminating area, utilizing permanent acrylic adhesive and offering excellent clarity, conformability, and self-extinguishing properties. It demonstrates outstanding water and oil resistance with a total thickness of 0.0040 inch (0.102 mm) and achieves adhesion strengths of 38–49 oz/in (42–54 N/100 mm) on stainless steel and 25–33 oz/in (28–36 N/100 mm) on polypropylene depending on dwell time. The material maintains functionality across a wide temperature range from -94°F (-70°C) to 212°F (100°C), resists humidity, UV light, and weathering, and exhibits excellent chemical resistance to cleaners, solvents, and isopropyl alcohol.
