SMCJ85CA is a bidirectional transient voltage suppressor diode designed for surge and ESD protection in portable communications, computing, and video equipment. This device features a working peak reverse voltage of 85 V with a breakdown voltage of approximately 94.4 V, housed in a compact SMC (DO-214AB) surface mount package. The diode delivers peak pulse power dissipation of 1500 watts with a peak forward surge current of 200 amps (8.3 ms single half sine wave), and operates reliably across a temperature range of -55°C to +150°C. Its fast response time of less than 5.0 nanoseconds from 0 V to minimum breakdown voltage makes it ideal for protecting sensitive electronic circuits from transient overvoltage events, offering lead-free RoHS-compliant construction for modern applications.
