DESCRIPTION

The 880 is a full-featured handheld LCR meter designed for precise measurement of passive components in electronic assembly and quality control applications. It features a 40,000-count primary display and 10,000-count secondary display, measuring inductance (L), capacitance (C), resistance (R), impedance (Z), dissipation factor (D), quality factor (Q), phase angle (?), equivalent series resistance (ESR), and DC resistance (DCR). The meter achieves basic measurement accuracy up to 0.1% with selectable test frequencies from 100 Hz to 100 kHz and configurable test signal levels (0.3 Vrms, 0.6 Vrms, 1 Vrms, or 1 Vdc for DCR). The 880 includes a 4-terminal shielded configuration with separate sensing and current leads plus guard terminal, reducing lead impedance effects and improving accuracy especially in lower impedance ranges. Additional capabilities include auto-detect mode for automatic component identification, fast auto-ranging, tolerance sorting (1%, 5%, 10%, 20%), relative mode, data hold, and Min/Max/Average recording. The meter operates at 4 readings/sec (fast) or 1.5 readings/sec (slow) for LCR/Z measurements, with a response time of 680 ms. It connects to a PC via mini USB interface for continuous data logging and remote control via SCPI commands. The 880 is ideal for passive component troubleshooting, electronic assembly verification, and quality control sorting in manufacturing environments.
