DESCRIPTION

1-2199298-8 is a 24-position DIP socket with dual leaf contacts designed to provide reliable interconnection between integrated circuit devices and printed circuit boards. The socket features dual leaf contacts that enlarge the contact area and ensure low and constant contact resistance, combined with a true closed bottom design that prevents solder and flux wicking. It is manufactured from 30% glass-filled PBT thermoplastic with phosphorous bronze contacts plated in tin, and operates with a maximum insertion force of 300 grams and a minimum withdrawal force of 20 grams. The socket accepts IC pins ranging from 0.008" to 0.012" in diameter and is rated for 1 ampere per pin with a maximum contact resistance of 20 milliohms and 1000V AC dielectric withstanding voltage. This socket is ideal for applications requiring easy field IC replacement, component testing, system upgrades, and avoidance of IC overheating during soldering in industrial controls, intelligent buildings, medical devices, and military embedded systems.
