DESCRIPTION

AAD5178-00 is a spring termination backshell assembly designed for use with MIL-DTL-38999 Series III & IV connectors in the 91H series. The backshell features a silicone O-ring seal with a nominal diameter of 30.00 mm and incorporates a constant force spring mechanism for secure cable retention. Available in multiple shell sizes (09 through 25) with corresponding thread specifications ranging from M12 x 1.0 to M37 x 1.0, the assembly accommodates various entry sizes and spring references (HE050 through HE400). Material options include aluminum alloy and stainless steel with nickel-aluminum bronze variants, finished with electroless nickel, cadmium, zinc cobalt, or zinc nickel coatings per TABLE 4. This backshell assembly is commonly used in military and aerospace applications requiring reliable connector termination with vibration resistance and environmental sealing.
