DESCRIPTION
The 173800-E is an SMC connector featuring 1.27 mm grid spacing and dual-row spring contacts designed for high-performance, compact board-to-board and board-on-cable interconnections. This connector supports automated assembly through board-on IDC (Insulation Displacement Contact) termination with ribbon cable, enabling cost-efficient processing on modern assembly lines with press-in connection without special tools. The connector exhibits double-sided spring contacts for maximum contact reliability, operates across a temperature range of -55°C to +125°C (TPE-S cable), and achieves contact resistance below 10 mO for board-on IDC configurations. It supports data transmission rates up to 3 Gbit/s (differential) with virtually continuous impedance profile, making it suitable for applications requiring secure, high-speed signal integrity in space-constrained systems such as mezzanine boards, stacked configurations, and automated cable harness assemblies.
