DESCRIPTION

The 50462-8 is a miniature spring socket assembly designed for discrete socket applications requiring reliable contact with small-diameter pins. It features a closed bottom sleeve style with a socket length of 4.52 mm and accommodates mating pin diameters ranging from 0.36 to 0.66 mm. The contact system utilizes beryllium copper material with gold plating (30 µin) on the contact spring and tin plating on the sleeve, providing excellent electrical conductivity and corrosion resistance. The socket is hand or semi-automatic insertable and is compatible with multiple lead-free solder processes including wave solder (240°C, 260°C, 265°C) and reflow solder (245°C, 260°C), as well as pin-in-paste assembly methods. This socket is ideal for production applications in test fixtures, instrumentation, and electronic assemblies where compact, reliable spring contact connections are required.
