DESCRIPTION

HSC20040RJ is a 400-watt aluminium housed power resistor from the TE Connectivity HS Series, engineered for high-power dissipation in industrial applications including power supplies, power generation, and traction systems. The resistor features a dissipation rating of 400 watts at 25°C with heatsink and 100 watts without heatsink, with an operating temperature range of -55°C to +200°C. It supports ohmic values from 1R0 to 100K with a maximum working voltage of 2500V (DC or AC rms), isolation voltage of 3600V (DC or AC peak), and dielectric strength of 5000V (AC peak). The unit exhibits excellent long-term stability with resistance change of 3% over 1000 hours, features a standard heatsink area of 578,000 mm² with 3 mm thickness and 6 mounting holes, and maintains insulation resistance of 10,000 MO minimum in dry conditions. This resistor is ideal for demanding applications requiring reliable high-power dissipation in compact form factors with rapid heat transfer to external heat sinks.
