DESCRIPTION

2118721-2 is a two-piece board level shielding (BLS) cover component designed to provide electromagnetic interference (EMI) suppression and isolation of board-level components in compact electronic devices. The cover features a material thickness of 0.15 mm with dimensions of 38.60 mm length × 25.90 mm width × 2.00 mm height, manufactured from stainless steel, galvanized steel, pre-plated cold rolled steel (CRS), or aluminum with a minimum material thickness of 0.08 mm and an inner bending radius of 0.10 mm minimum. The component includes a pitch of dimples at 3.0 mm minimum for secure attachment and maintains a co-planarity specification of 0.08 mm (size dependent) to ensure proper fit and shielding effectiveness. This two-piece shield solution is ideal for applications requiring board-level EMI suppression in mobile phones, tablets, routers, wireless devices, and IoT equipment, where minimizing crosstalk and reducing EMI susceptibility are critical without impacting system performance.
