DESCRIPTION

The R-78HB5.0-0.5L is a high input voltage DC/DC switching regulator designed to provide a stable 5.0V, 0.5A output. It operates over a very wide input range from 9VDC to 72VDC with an efficiency of up to 87%, eliminating the need for a heatsink. Key features include continuous short-circuit protection, thermal shutdown, and low output ripple and noise, typically 20mVp-p. This 'L' version features 90° pins, making it a low-profile, pin-compatible replacement for LM78xx series linear regulators. Its robust design is well-suited for industrial, automotive, telecommunication, and battery-powered applications where high efficiency and a wide input range are critical.
