DESCRIPTION

The 800678-SF is a current-compensated choke from the Schaffner RD series designed for EMI/EMC suppression in AC powerline applications. This dual-choke configuration attenuates common-mode and asymmetric (phase-to-neutral) interference signals when connected in series with AC power input lines, with symmetrical noise components further reduced by winding leakage inductance. The choke is typically used in conjunction with suppression capacitors for comprehensive EMI filtering. It features high saturation resistance and excellent thermal behavior, supporting operation from DC to 400 Hz frequencies. Common applications include EMI input filters and phase-angle control circuits in combination with saturating chokes, providing reliable energy efficiency and noise suppression in industrial and commercial power systems.
