DESCRIPTION
605262-2 is a butyl rubber fusion tape designed for wrapping electrical cable splices and terminations. This self-adhering tape forms a tough, homogeneous, watertight skin that provides long-term protection even during prolonged immersion in water. The tape features a width of 2.000 inches (50.80 mm), a thickness of 0.020 inches (0.51 mm), and is supplied in 30-foot (9.14 m) lengths per roll, with a weight of 0.398 lbs (180.4 grams). It resists abrasion, impact, sunlight, and most chemicals, operates continuously from -40°F (-40°C) to 212°F (100°C), and can withstand short-term exposure up to 266°F (130°C). The tape requires no heat or open flame for application, eliminating the need for special equipment and reducing installation costs, making it ideal for electrical terminations, cable splices, and various industrial applications where durable, watertight insulation is required.
