DESCRIPTION

5-66506-9 is a precision crimp socket contact designed for use in M Series, Special M Series, "G" Series, Metrimate, Metrimate Drawer, and CPC Series connectors. This Type II+ socket contact accommodates 24-20 AWG wire with a maximum insulation diameter of 0.060 inches (1.52 mm) and features a single contact current rating of 13 amperes at 30°C temperature rise. The contact is formed from phosphor bronze with a gold/nickel finish (Contact Finish Code A), providing excellent spring properties and corrosion resistance. The socket design includes a tulip entry to prevent contact stubbing and features low mating force to facilitate high pin counts. This contact is commonly used in signal and power applications where reliable electrical connections and compact connector designs are required.
