DESCRIPTION

The 2-87631-5 is a Mod IV wire-applied receptacle housing designed for dual-row, end-stackable interconnection systems with 0.100 x 0.100 inch [2.54 x 2.54 mm] centerline spacing. This housing features detent latching, polarization, and an integrated strain relief/pull tab for secure wire termination and connector retention. The housing is constructed from glass-filled thermoplastic material rated 94V-0 and accommodates 32-20 AWG [0.03-0.6 mm²] discrete wire with dual cantilever contact beams that include built-in anti-overstress protection. The receptacle mates with 0.025 inch [0.64 mm] square or round posts and supports contact current ratings up to 3 amperes with termination resistance of 12 milliohms maximum for beryllium copper contacts. This housing is ideal for wire-to-board applications requiring reliable, polarized connections with mechanical strain relief in compact, stackable configurations.
