DESCRIPTION

The 277149-5 is a COPALUM Lite sealed terminal designed for rugged aerospace electrical applications, featuring aluminum construction that delivers up to 60% weight savings compared to copper terminals. This product utilizes proven dry crimp technology with a perforated insert that penetrates aluminum oxides to form oxide-free, long-lasting terminations in a single crimp process, eliminating the need for secondary wire sealing operations. The terminal is qualified for commercial aircraft use and operates at temperatures up to 175°C with a sealed crimp rating of 80 psi, maintaining reliability through 500 hours of salt spray testing. Its smooth barrel design enables snag-free wire insertion with a generous lead-in for fast conductor placement, while the aluminum base material with tin-over-nickel plating ensures corrosion resistance. Common applications include primary power feeders, grounding systems, and unmanned aerial vehicles where weight reduction and reliable sealed connections are critical.
