The 2289129-3 is a QSFP28/56 and zQSFP+ interconnect cage assembly designed for high-speed data transmission in networking and storage applications. It supports data transfer rates of 28 Gbps NRZ and 56 Gbps PAM-4 per channel with quad-channel capability, offering backwards compatibility with QSFP+ cables and transceivers. The cage features enhanced EMI sealing that provides 10 dB EMI performance improvement over standard QSFP28 products, along with an internal riding heatsink in the separator plate area that delivers 12–15°C cooling improvement to lower ports. External riding heatsinks on the upper port are optimized for airflow direction with air vent holes allowing air to pass through and exit via the sides and rear. The reduced insertion force makes assembly easier and faster while reducing the risk of damage. These cages are specifically designed for Intel Omni-Path Architecture switch architectures and NIC cards, supporting high-density 2RU+ box designs and switch designs with next-generation 48 and 64 silicon ports, making them ideal for high-performance computing, data center, and enterprise networking applications.
