DESCRIPTION

The THS50R50J is a 50-watt aluminium housed wire-wound power resistor designed for rapid heat dissipation through an aluminium housing to a specified heatsink. It features a resistance value of 50 ohms with 5% tolerance and can dissipate 50 watts at 25°C with a heatsink, or 20 watts without one. The resistor has a maximum working voltage of 1250 V (DC or AC rms), dielectric strength of 2500 V (AC peak), and excellent long-term stability with 1% resistance change over 1000 hours. With an insulation resistance of 10,000 MO (dry) and temperature coefficient of 30 ppm/°C, it is ideal for demanding applications such as braking resistors, balancing resistors, capacitor charging/discharging circuits, crowbar circuits, and general electrical machinery use.
