DESCRIPTION

The 1-66569-0 is a precision socket contact designed for signal applications in Size 16 format, compatible with M Series, Special M Series, Metrimate, Metrimate Drawer, and CPC Series 1 connectors. The contact features a low mating force to facilitate high pin counts in connector housings, with a tulip entry design that prevents contact stubbing and provides a generous lead-in for mating pins. Formed from phosphor bronze, the socket provides excellent spring properties and is gold-plated over nickel on the entire contact with additional gold plating on the mating end for superior corrosion resistance and low contact resistance. The contact accommodates solid or stranded wire up to 18 AWG (0.8 mm²) maximum and delivers a single contact current rating of 7.5 amperes at 30°C temperature rise, making it suitable for signal and low-power applications in precision connector assemblies.
