DESCRIPTION
The MCT62 is a general-purpose, dual-channel optocoupler featuring a gallium arsenide infrared emitting diode optically coupled to an NPN silicon planar phototransistor. It is specifically characterized by a minimum current transfer ratio (CTR) of 100% with an input current of 5 mA. The device exhibits a low collector-emitter saturation voltage, with a typical value of 0.15 V and a maximum of 0.4 V. Housed in an 8-pin DIP package for high-density applications, the MCT62 provides high voltage isolation rated at 5,000 VACRMS. It is commonly used for isolating high voltage transients, eliminating ground loops, and monitoring relay contacts.
