KesterSolder - Wire - Sn63Pb37 2.2% (58 Core)/285 0.50mm (0.020in) - 1 lb Spool ...
DESCRIPTION
The 24-6337-9700 is a Kester 285 mildly activated rosin flux cored solder wire designed for soldering difficult electronic assemblies while maintaining compliance with mildly activated rosin flux specifications. Classified as Type ROL0 per IPC J-STD-004 (formerly Type RMA per MIL-F-14256), this product consists of high-quality purified rosin combined with synergistic activating agents, delivering fluxing ability comparable to fully activated rosin fluxes. The wire is available in multiple alloys including Sn63Pb37 and Sn96.5Ag3.0Cu0.5, with standard wire diameter of 1.00 mm (0.031 in) and core flux content of 3.3% by weight (core 66), though diameters range from 0.25–6.00 mm and alternative core sizes are available. Flux residues are non-corrosive, non-conductive, and do not require removal in most applications, with low copper mirror corrosion and excellent reliability properties including pass ratings for silver chromate and fluoride spot tests. Recommended solder iron tip temperatures are 315–371 °C (600–700 °F) for leaded alloys and 371–427 °C (700–800 °F) for lead-free alloys, making it ideal for hand soldering and rework operations in electronics manufacturing and repair.
