DESCRIPTION
SS496A Hall Effect Sensor from Honeywell comes with built-in thin-film resistors, which offer increased temperature stability and sensitivity. This Hall Effect Sensor is designed to respond to either positive or negative Gauss and monitors either or both magnetic poles. The rail-to-rail operation of this Honeywell Sensor over a full voltage range offers a more usable signal for high-performance and accuracy.
Hall Effect sensors are generally used in proximity switching, positioning, speed detection, and current sensing. Some of their applications include motor controls, magnetic code reading, current and position sensing, ferrous metal detector, vibration sensing, and rotary encoders, among others. They operate as analog transducers and return a voltage directly. These sensors vary their output voltage in response to a magnetic field.
