DESCRIPTION
The 62A15-02-060S is an optical encoder from Grayhill's Series 62A featuring a 1/2" package with 16 detent positions (22.5° angle of throw) and an integrated pushbutton switch. It provides 2-bit quadrature coded output with optically coupled design rated for over 1 million rotational cycles, operating at 5.0 Vdc with a maximum supply current of 30 mA and power consumption of 150 mW. The encoder features a maximum operating speed of 100 RPM, operating torque of 2.0 ±1.4 in-oz initially, and is compatible with CMOS, TTL, and HCMOS logic. This device is ideal for applications in global positioning systems, driver information systems, and medical equipment where reliable rotational input sensing is required.
