DESCRIPTION

The SMBJ45A is a unidirectional transient voltage suppressor diode designed for surge and ESD protection in compact surface-mount applications. It features a working peak reverse voltage (VRWM) of 45 V, a breakdown voltage range of 50.3 to 55.3 V, and a peak pulse power dissipation of 600 watts at 1 ms pulse width. The device operates over a temperature range of -55°C to +150°C and offers fast response times of less than 1.0 picosecond, with a maximum instantaneous forward voltage of 3.5 to 5.0 volts at 50 A peak current. The SMBJ45A is housed in the compact DO-214AA (SMB) surface-mount package and is RoHS compliant, making it ideal for protecting sensitive electronics in portable communications, computing, and video equipment against transient overvoltage events including ESD, electrical fast transients (EFT), and surge conditions.
