DESCRIPTION

SMBJ170A is a unidirectional transient voltage suppressor diode designed for surge and ESD protection in compact surface-mount applications. It features a working peak reverse voltage of 170 V with a breakdown voltage of 220 V, housed in the DO-214AA (SMB) package format. The device delivers 600 watts peak power dissipation and exhibits fast response times of less than 1.0 picosecond, providing effective protection against transient overvoltage events. The SMBJ170A is RoHS compliant and suitable for protecting sensitive electronics in portable communications, computing, and video equipment against IEC 61000-4-2 ESD, IEC 61000-4-4 EFT, and IEC 61000-4-5 surge events.
