DESCRIPTION

The 01002-8460 is a 2.5" solid shaft incremental encoder from BEI Sensors designed for industrial automation and hazardous location environments. It features NPN open collector outputs with internal 2.7K ohm pull-up resistors, providing robust signal transmission with high noise immunity in electrically noisy environments. The encoder meets IP65 protection standards (IP66 when ordered with shaft seal), operates across a wide temperature range from -40°C to +100°C storage, and withstands shocks up to 1000 m/s² and vibrations up to 300 m/s². With EMI shielding, high precision ball bearings, and matched thermal coefficients on critical components, this encoder is ideal for machine control, motion feedback systems, and applications requiring intrinsically safe or non-incendive certifications in hazardous locations.
