DESCRIPTION
The DS850DC-3 is an 850-watt distributed power bulk front-end supply designed for DC-input operation from a Telco-style 48 Vdc input source. It provides a main output of +12V at 70A with a +3.3V standby output at 6A, featuring an input voltage range of -40 Vdc to -75 Vdc and typical efficiency greater than 80%. The unit incorporates active current sharing, internal ORing FETs, and an EEPROM for storing service data, along with an I2C communication interface for FRU EEPROM data access. Standard features include hot plug operation, N+1 redundancy capability, no minimum load requirement, and a built-in 40mm x 28mm cooling fan with internal speed control. The power supply is housed in a 1U x 2U form factor with a power density of 15.4W/in³ and operates over a temperature range of 0°C to 50°C with unimpeded airflow, making it suitable for telecommunications, data center, and industrial applications requiring reliable distributed power solutions.
