DESCRIPTION
The DS500SDC-3 is a 500-watt bulk front-end DC-DC power supply designed for distributed power systems in rack-mount environments. It accepts a wide input voltage range of -36 to -72 VDC and provides a main 12V output (up to 41.67A) plus a 12V standby output (up to 3.0A), with peak efficiency of 90%. The unit is housed in a compact 1U high rack-mounting enclosure with a power density of 10.9 watts per cubic inch, featuring full digital control, PMBus compliance, and active current sharing for N+1 or N+N redundant configurations. Protection features include overcurrent, overvoltage, undervoltage, and overtemperature protection on both outputs, with inrush current control and hold-up time of 1 ms at full load. This design is ideal for telecommunications, data center computing, and industrial applications requiring high reliability and space efficiency, with an MTBF of 1,000,000 hours and compliance with UL/cUL 60950, EN60950, and CE marking standards.
