DESCRIPTION

12015782 is a heavy-duty, compact 2.8 mm automotive connector system designed for high-current applications in vehicle electrical architectures. The connector features a two-piece construction with an integrated floating spring made of beryllium copper or copper nickel silicon, delivering the highest current rating in its class at 40 A maximum. It exhibits excellent electrical performance with contact resistance below 2 mO, contact mating force below 5 N, and contact unmating force below 2 N, ensuring reliable and ergonomic mating cycles. The system operates across a temperature range of -40°C to +150°C and withstands vibration up to 30 G, meeting or exceeding USCAR performance standards and GMW3191 specifications. With its fully protected interface seal providing IP68 environmental protection, mechanical polarization, and Primary Lock Reinforcement (PLR), this connector is ideal for heavy-duty inline and device applications in engine compartments, chassis, and other demanding automotive environments where robust performance and high current capacity are essential.
