DESCRIPTION
The P949-BK is a chemical-resistant SB®175 connector housing designed for high-current power distribution applications. It features a genderless design that mates with itself, accommodating wire contacts up to 1/0 AWG (50 mm²) and busbar contacts, with a maximum current rating of 280 amps for wire-to-wire connections per UL 1977. The housing is molded from a chemical-resistant PBT/PC blend, extending the operating temperature range down to -40°C while providing enhanced UV and chemical resistance compared to standard housings. The connector is UL-rated for hot plugging up to 100 amps, making it ideal for battery systems and applications requiring circuit interruption capability. Its keyless design allows mating with all other color-coded connector variants, simplifying inventory management and assembly in demanding industrial and renewable energy applications.
