DESCRIPTION

The 5388C-SL005 is an 8-conductor shielded cable assembly manufactured by Alpha Wire, designed for industrial and electronic applications requiring reliable signal transmission. Each conductor is 18 AWG (16/30) tinned copper with 0.016" nominal PVC insulation wall, arranged in a twisted configuration at 4.0 twists per foot minimum and wrapped with nonwoven polyester tape. The cable features an aluminum/mylar shield with 25% overlap and an 18 AWG tinned copper drain wire, all enclosed in a 0.032" nominal PVC jacket with a ripcord for easy stripping. Operating over a temperature range of -30°C to +105°C with a voltage rating of 300V RMS, the cable exhibits low capacitance (45 pF/ft conductor-to-conductor) and inductance (0.18 µH/ft), making it suitable for control systems, instrumentation, and data transmission where EMI shielding and signal integrity are essential.
