DESCRIPTION
The 1557-WG001 is a single-conductor hookup wire designed for general-purpose electrical applications requiring reliable insulation and conductivity. It features a 16 AWG (26/30 stranded) tinned copper conductor with a nominal 0.016" wall PVC insulation, providing an overall diameter of 0.092 ± 0.002 inches. The wire is rated for 1000 V RMS at 80°C and complies with MIL-W-76B specifications (TYPE MW and MN), with an operating temperature range of -40°C to +80°C. Key electrical characteristics include a nominal inductance of 0.04 µH/ft and a conductor DC resistance of 4.4 O/1000ft at 20°C. The wire is available in multiple colors including white, black, red, green, yellow, blue, brown, orange, slate, violet, and various white-striped combinations, making it suitable for control circuits, instrumentation, and general wiring applications where color-coding and durability are important.
