D38999/26FB98SC is a MIL-DTL-38999 Series III straight plug connector featuring the Dualok high-vibration coupling mechanism designed to withstand vibration levels exceeding standard MIL-DTL-38999 specifications. The connector utilizes metal-to-metal bottoming for maximum EMI shielding under extreme vibration and incorporates a unique clutch design that tightens itself under vibration without settling back. Available in stainless steel, aluminum, composite, or aluminum bronze materials, the Dualok design provides significant weight savings—up to 42% reduction compared to standard stainless steel designs and approximately 10% reduction for aluminum variants. The connector mates with standard D38999 receptacles and utilizes standard D38999 inserts, ensuring complete interchangeability with existing MIL-DTL-38999 Series III connectors. This design is particularly valuable for aerospace and military applications where inaccessible mounting locations and extreme vibration environments demand reliable, maintenance-free connections.
