DESCRIPTION

The 62A11-02-180S is an optical encoder from Grayhill's Series 62A featuring a 1/2" economical package with 2-bit quadrature coded output and an optional integral pushbutton switch. This encoder operates at 5.0 Vdc with a maximum supply current of 30 mA and delivers logic output characteristics compatible with CMOS, TTL, and HCMOS logic (Logic High: 3.8 Vdc minimum, Logic Low: 0.8 Vdc maximum). The device is optically coupled for rotational life exceeding 1,000,000 cycles minimum, with an operating torque of 2.0 ±1.4 in-oz initially and a maximum operating speed of 100 RPM. The encoder features a 3/8-32 UNF-2A threaded mounting interface, 28 AWG stranded cable with PVC coating, and is constructed with thermoplastic housing, stainless steel components, and a planar silicon NPN phototransistor. This product is ideal for global positioning systems, driver information systems, and medical equipment applications where reliable, long-life rotational sensing is required.
