DESCRIPTION
The 8612 is a straight body male thread cord and cable fitting designed to provide a secure environmental seal for portable cords and cables in hazardous and wet locations. It features NPT thread sizes ranging from 3/8" to 3", with cable outer diameter capacity from 0.125" to 2.500", and is available in multiple forms (A through F) to accommodate various cord sizes. The fitting is constructed with rugged materials—steel bodies and gland nuts for Forms A through D, and Feraloy iron alloy for Forms E and F—finished with zinc electroplate and chromate or electrogalvanized coatings for corrosion resistance. It is certified to UL Standard 514B and complies with NEC Class I Division 2 and Class II/III requirements, making it suitable for use with portable cords, Types MV, PLTC, SE, TC, and UF cables. The compact design permits close grouping of multiple cords and cables, and tightening a single nut creates a watertight seal, providing both environmental protection and secure termination for flexible cord and cable installations.
